Education

Talking about the importance of children and adolescents receiving a quality education may seem like a no-brainer, but unfortunately it is not. According to UNICEF, a total of 303 million children between the ages of 5 and 17 are out of school worldwide.

Therefore, for the United Nations, “education is the key to achieving many other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). When people have access to quality education, they can escape the cycle of poverty.

Why does the United Nations see education as a way to overcome a difficult economic and social situation?

Basically, because a person who has received a good education can take better advantage of future opportunities such as scholarships, jobs, promotions within the corporate world, public positions, better economic income for himself/ herself and his/her family. In other words, the level and quality of education influences a person’s future employment and economic future.

For that reason, in our institution we always say that if you can guarantee your children access to a quality education, do it. It will be their gateway to success. It is the best inheritance you could leave them.

In our case, at BMS, far-reaching education with the highest quality standards is our way of doing things.

Bilingual education; an additional key to future success

Although, quality education is already a necessity for the proper formation of children, adolescents and young people, a bilingual education is a great contribution to their future because most large companies are looking for professionals with a fluent command of English or another language that is strategic for their business model.

Why learn English as a child?

According to the British Council, there are immediate and long-term benefits of studying English in childhood. “Among the immediate ones we find the development of multitasking and greater empathy, and among the long-term ones we have greater opportunities to enter university or better jobs”.

When we learn a second language as adults, we tend to translate our mother tongue into the new language or the other way around. On the other hand, when children learn from a very early age, they acquire the language naturally (including intonation, pronunciation and vocabulary), they do not need to translate.

In addition, a bilingual child acquires better socialization skills because he/she can express him/herself in two languages, facilitating relationships and knowledge of new cultures.

In simple terms, when we introduce a second language in the first years of a child’s life, we expand his or her ability to learn and interact with others.

Finally, according to the latest research, bilingualism may help slow dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, as the brain ages more slowly.
